Can you believe we met at a speed dating event?! Just two strangers sitting down in a crowded NYC bar in Midtown East, huddled next to a dozen other strangers taking a chance. On that night we talked about our favorite Muppets and a week later we were on our first date.
It’s been pretty fun ever since.

The Proposal

We went to Maison Premiere in Williamsburg on a Saturday afternoon, just before seeing Megan at Nitehawk Cinemas. We were seated at a special spot in the restaurant (planned ahead of time), right by the fireplace. We ordered our usual: bread with seaweed butter, oysters, a sazerac, and a martini.
After the food arrived, that’s when I proposed to her. No bending on one knee, no long speeches, no embarrassing gestures in public, just straight up and to the point.
She said yes.
The hostess, waiting in the wings, brought us champagne. The staff congratulated us and we both smiled.
